Tranmere came from behind to claim a victory over Morecambe at Prenton Park with Cole Stockton twice on the scoresheet.
The Shrimps had taken a first half lead through a Mark Hughes header but two second half strikes by Stockton ensured Rovers' first home win of the season.
Manager Rob Edwards made four changes to the side which began last weekend against Cheltenham Town. In to the side came Danny Holmes, Janoi Donacien (to make his Tranmere debut), James Rowe and Abdulai Baggie. Jason Koumas missed out through injury while Marcus Holness, Jake Kirby and Danny Woodards were named as substitutes.
There was a familiar face in the visitors' line-up with Morecambe winger Kevin Ellison making a return to Prenton Park after he spent a season with Rovers in 2006-07.
It was a quiet start to the game with the first shot of the game going to Tranmere on 8 minutes. A goal-kick was collected by striker Cole Stockton who turned nicely but his powerful shot from 25 yards was off-target.
On 23 minutes, Baggie linked well with Eliot Richards whose cross was turned wide for a corner. From the resulting set play, Donacien headed well wide at the far post.
A dangerous low cross by Max Power on the right was awkwardedly cleared over his own crossbar by Morecambe skipper Mark Hughes after 33 minutes following a spell of neat passing football by Rovers.
Morecambe's first sight of goal didn't come until the 38th minute but it led to the opening goal of the game.
Michael Ihiekwe was adjudged to have fouled Morecambe forward Paul Mullin on the right side of the box. The low free-kick by Ellison was deflected wide for a corner and from that set piece, Jamie Devitt's delivery was headed back across goal before being nodded in by Hughes from eight yards giving Owain fon Williams no chance.
Morecambe held that lead at half time and had the first chance of the second period. Devitt cut inside from the left and fired in a low drive from 25 yards which fon Williams saved down to his right.
On 48 minutes, there was another chance for Morecambe to increase their lead. A right-wing cross by Ellison was looped up in the air by Ihiekwe. The ball was palmed off the line by fon Williams and Andrew Fleming drove the ball over the bar from six yards.
On 58 minutes, Rob Edwards made his first change of the game bringing off Eliot Richards for Kayode Odejayi. And second later, Rovers levelled. A ball over the top of the Morecambe defence found Cole Stockton who knocked the ball around Shrimps goalkeeper Barry Roche before firing home from 12 yards.
Morecambe were reduced to 10 men on 63 minutes when Hughes was shown the red card for an off-the-ball incident on Odejayi.
Midway through the second half, Max Power forced a good save out of Roche. Baggie played the midfielder in down the left channel and he cut inside and drilled in a low right-footed shot which Roche palmed out before it was cleared to safety.
Baggie did well on 71 minutes. He linked up well with Odejayi and burst into the box at speed, beating two defenders but his shot was blocked out for a corner.
Stockton then had a chance for Tranmere. Power played the ball in to the young striker who turned and rifled a powerful shot from 15 yards which Roche had to palm back out.
Another chance fell Rovers' way. A throw-in by Holmes was held up by Stockton, whose touch found Baggie racing in but his low shot slid across the face of goal and out for a goal-kick.
Ellison had a chance for the visitors five minutes before the end. A long ball forward by Alan Goodall found it's way to the winger who took a touch and fired a low drive which fon Williams tipped wide of the post.
Tranmere took the lead with just seconds remaining of the 90 minutes. After a long spell of pressure, it finally told as Matt Hill dinked in a ball from the right which fell nicely to Stockton who first time fired a right footed effort past Roche.
Five minutes of injury time were added on but Tranmere held on for their first home win of the season.
