Tranmere claimed a clean sheet and a point from their trip to Bristol Rovers as the League One match ended goalless.
There were few chances on goal for either side as Rovers continued their run of having not lost successive games under Les Parry. The result left Tranmere in 20th place, four points above the relegation zone.
Les Parry made four changes to the side that started against Leeds. Bas Savage made his first start in 11 months in place of Marvin Sordell, while Shaleum Logan replaced Luke O'Neill at right back, Chris McCready came in for Marlon Broomes at centre back and Ash Taylor returned from injury to take the place of Gareth Edds in midfield.
McCready was called on in the first minute, the centre back clearing after a mistake from Ian Goodison gave possession to Jo Kuffour inside the Rovers area.
At the other end Goodison was just beaten to Ash Taylor knock across goal by Pirates goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen on seven minutes and the keeper excellently saved from Ian Thomas-Moore's close range effort six minutes later.
Paul McLaren headed over the bar from a Logan cross while Dominic Blizzard fired over at the other end on 18 minutes.
Paul Heffernan missed from 12 yards from a Stuart Campbell corner for the hosts on 22 minutes and the on loan striker curled over the bar ten minutes later.
Luke Daniels held on to Blizzard's deflected effort on 43 minutes and Craig Curran lobbed over the bar in injury time - the last chance of a fairly even half which ended shortly after Byron Anthony had been carried off on a stretcher for the home side.
Thomas-Moore had the first shot of the second half but his 25 yard attempt was comfortably saved by Andersen, while at the opposite end Goodison blocked a drive from Campbell.
Chances were few and far between in the second half with both defences dominating their opponents. Goodison and McCready dealt with the threat of Heffernan on 60 minutes while Steve Elliott headed wide of goal for the home side soon after.
Bristol Rovers continued to throw bodies forward in search of a home victory in the final ten minutes winning a number of set pieces around the Tranmere area but the visitors defended resolutely and held on for the point, despite being reduced to ten men in injury time when Zoumana Bakayogo was shown his second yellow card of the match.
