Goals from Enoch Showunmi and Ash Taylor earned Tranmere a 2-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers at Prenton Park.
It was a deserved victory for Rovers who created the majority of the game's chances and defended strongly when required.
The result left Les Parry's side on 14 points from their opening nine games of the season.
There was one change to the team that started against Carlisle United with new loan signing Ryan Donaldson coming in for Joss Labadie who replaced Max Power on the bench.
Donaldson's first involvement came in the third minute with the Newcastle player winning the ball in the centre circle before finding Lucas Akins on the right wing, with the striker firing just wide of the right hand post from the edge of the area.
David Buchanan's lofted pass released Adam McGurk
on the left wing on five minutes and he did well to hold off his marker and win a corner, but Rovers were unable to capitalise on the set piece.
Robbie Weir dragged a shot wide of the target from outside the area on eight minutes but soon after Rovers grabbed the lead. A free kick from Dave Raven was headed back across goal first by Ian Goodison then by Akins allowing Showunmi to hook the ball into the net from close range for his first goal of the season.
Goodison was involved again on 11 minutes, heading a dangerous cross away from goal and out of the six yard box as Wycombe pressed from a corner and the veteran defender ended another Chairboys attack soon after.
At the other end a training ground corner routine saw John Welsh play the ball back to Buchanan and his deep cross reached Akins at the far post, however, the 22-year oldsaw his shot go wide at the near post.
A Raven shot went over the top left corner from 25 yards out from another well worked corner while a surging run from Donaldson on 24 minutes saw the youngster win a free kick on the edge of the area but pick up an injury in the process. After a spell of treatment from physio Gregg Blundell he had to be replaced by Labadie, while McGurk curled the free kick over the bar following the delay in play.
On 38 minutes McGurk shot inches wide of the left hand post from the edge of the area after a Buchanan free kick was played into his path, while Taylor headed straight at Wycombe keeper Nikki Bull a minute later from a Welsh corner.
Labadie tested Bull in the first minute of the second half with a shot from the edge of the area but the visitors responded well with a long spell of pressure in the Tranmere half.
However, Rovers coped with Wycombe's attacks and almost created a chance of their own when Showunmi's flick on went just beyond McGurk on the edge of the six yard box.
The second goal came on the hour mark. While the Rovers player crowded around the edge of the area, Ash Taylor raced towards the near post to get a glancing header on Welsh's cross and turn the ball past Bull and into the right side of the net.
Handball awarded against Weir gave Wycombe a free kick right on the edge of the area on 64 minutes but after the shot from Matt Bloomfield struck the Rovers wall the danger was eventually cleared by Goodison.
Bloomfield headed over Owain Fon Williams and onto the roof of the Tranmere net on 67 minutes while Labadie was replaced by Zoumana Bakayogo just a couple of minutes after being booked.
Some excellent work from Welsh saw the Rovers captain win the ball, play a one two with Akins and swing in a dangerous cross on 74 minutes, with Wycombe defender James Tunnicliffe forced to concede a corner under pressure from Bakayogo.
Rovers' final change saw Mustafa Tiryaki come on in place of McGurk, while Showunmi miss hit a right foot shot from the edge of the area after running on to a long ball moments later.
Akins' hard work gave Tiryaki a chance to run on goal on 90 minutes but the substitute's slip outside the area allowed Wycombe to clear.
