Tranmere fell to their first defeat of the season at home against Boreham Wood.
Two second half goals from Graeme Montgomery and Harry Crawford gave the Hertfordshire club all three points.
Tranmere manager Gary Brabin was able to name an unchanged side to that which began against FC Halifax Town last Tuesday. New loan signing Nathan Blissett was named among the substitutes.
In the opposition side, former Rovers defender Danny Woodards started at left back for Boreham Wood.
After a quiet opening quarter of an hour, Rovers the first meaningful effort on goal as Michael Ihiekwe curled a low shot towards goal only for Preston Edwards to dive to his right and make the save.
The visitors were forced into a change on 25 minutes as Jamie Lucas pulled up holding his hamstring and was replaced by Harry Crawford.
There was a sudden flurry of action at both end in the 42nd minute, firstly as Ridehalgh had a shot saved by Edwards from a tight angle before it went down the other end and substitute Crawford hit a 20-yard drive narrowly wide.
10 minutes after the break, Brabin made a change with Blissett coming on for his first outing in a Tranmere shirt to replace Lois Maynard.
Boreham Wood took the lead on 58 minutes as Ben Nunn's low cross from the right found its way to Graeme Montgomery who drilled the ball past Scott Davies.
Rovers looked for an instant response but after Matt Hill's forward run and pass found Jay Harris, the midfielder's shot was blocked en-route to the goal and the visitors cleared.
Adam Mekki came on to replace Jonny Margetts with 20 minutes remaining as Rovers tried to find a different way to break down the stubborn Boreham Wood defence.
Mekki had a shot on goal five minutes after coming on which was saved by Edwards, before sending over a low cross which Jay Harris slid wide of the target.
The former Barnet player was in the thick of things again moments later as he cut the ball back to Liam Ridehalgh whose shot hit a Boreham Wood defender before they cleared their lines.
Boreham Wood secured their away win in the second minute of injury time as Harry Crawford fired home from the left edge of the penalty area.
