Adam Buxton has agreed a new two-year contract to remain at Tranmere Rovers.
The 25-year-old arrived at the Club at the beginning of February and helped Micky Mellon's side to a record tally of 95 points for the season.
He says it was quite a straightforward decision to make to sign a new deal with the Club.
"You only have to look at last Sunday and the fanbase which went down to Wembley to know it's a great Club, and I believe it's only going in one direction and that's forward.
"I had a couple of other offers, but this is a Club that is going the right way.
"I want to play my part in getting this Club out of this league. It's far too big to be in the National League, so it's about trying to keep the lads together, building on last season and try to go one better and win the league next time around.
"It's always nice when the fans get behind you, you can't ask for much more really. It helps you on the pitch, so that's another factor in why I chosen to stay."
