Tranmere Rovers College offering new degree course

Tranmere Rovers Football Club are proud to announce the introduction of a ‘HND-Coaching and Sports Development’ Foundation Degree.

In recent years, Tranmere Rovers have emerged as one of the leading education providers in football throughout the region. The Club's college system has been developed over the past few years, resulting in many students gaining qualifications to go on to further education as well as progressing into full-time jobs at Tranmere Rovers.

The Coaching and Sports Development Degree will be a two-year course involving several modules, from Applied Sports Coaching to Event Management as well as completing an in-depth research project. The aim of the course is to gain the qualifications but to also offer the opportunity of pathways to higher performance. Pathways such as Coaching, Scouting and Analysis, Physiotherapy and Strength and Conditioning are all available through the degree and will provide opportunities to gain experience at professional and semi-professional levels.

With Tranmere Rovers recently partnering with Inner Mongolia, this has broadened the opportunities that the Club can provide to students due to an ongoing desire for English coaches to assist with the progression of football in the country. Other countries such as Australia, New Zealand and America are also available to students with Tranmere Rovers having contacts across the globe and there are many recent examples of Tranmere Rovers students coaching abroad.

Dylan Vassello came through the college and went on to train and briefly feature in the first team and is now on a contract with Warrington Town FC. Tom Roberts and Sean Calvert both advanced from the college to coach in China whilst Danny Brooks is now playing in Australia.tom roberts
