Futsal Scholarships Still Remaining

Posted: Mon 19 Jun 2017
Tranmere Rovers have a handful of places remaining in next season's futsal scholarship.

Current under-16s/17s boys and girls are being invited to register interest here with a chance of being offered a full-time scholarship next season.

Once registered, players will be invited for a 3 week trial where more information about the education and opportunities within the fastest growing sport in the UK can be obtained. If successful, players will be offered a futsal scholarship and receive a full education, full-time training programme with England’s only UEFA A Futsal Coach, Damon Shaw, and a pathway into the Tranmere Rovers FC Futsal team and the England futsal team.

They will be treated to a top class professional environment, with gym access, nutritional advice and a quality education at Tranmere Rovers College & a games programme in the EFL Futsal League.

The programme will also prepare scholars for university or employment, with training courses to become coaches, referees and qualifications that will help with employment in the sports industry.

The programme is free and the course studied will be a BTEC in Sport.

"We're looking for young footballers who may have dropped out of football but still want the opportunity to reach the very top and with us in the Super League next season, there is no reason why players in our scholarship can’t be involved in the team," said Tranmere Rovers Futsal Manager Damon Shaw.

"We'll also be going head to head with the likes of Chelsea, Leicester and futsal leaders Grimsby in an under-18s national league and cup competition and we’ll be taking the team abroad to play an international tournament at the end of the season."

•      Learn: Study towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (worth up to three A-Levels)
•      Train: Professional futsal coaching from England's only UEFA A Futsal coach.
•      Play: Represent Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Futsal League and cup competitions with against other professional clubs
