Micky Mellon says that rest for his players will be important in the build up to the final two, or more, fixtures to the season.
Rovers have played a lot of games in a short amount of time with a number of postponements leading to matches Saturday-Tuesday for the past few weeks.
The manager says he cannot question his side's effort in those games and feels they need to have a short bit of down time.
He told Tranmere Player
HD: "The boys did really well considering we've had 20 games in 74 days, they've put a good shift in. That's a big ask for the boys to deliver on, and you have to say that they have delivered for us.
"We've won a lot of matches and put a lot of effort into it. It's important to both mentally and physically give them a bit of rest and get them away from the place for a little bit but without switching them off because we've still got some big games to be ready for.
"Connor Jennings broke all records by covering 15 kilometres in the game on Good Friday against Aldershot Town, which is astonishing.
"But we had one eye on that, plus we wanted to give Jack Dunn some time on the pitch so he's got 25-30 minutes so we're pleased with that."
