Tranmere Rovers face a local derby in their final home league game of the season as Southport make the short journey to Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon (3:00pm kick-off).
Micky Mellon's side sit in second position and the manager says it remains business as usual for his players.
He told Tranmere Player
HD: "I've said many times that we're Tranmere and we're expected to win, so we'll just continue trying to do that game by game, nothing changes.
"The lads have done great. The standards have been set and we have to keep meeting them and winning games of football."
The manager says that no matter who the opposition is we face, you can never quite predict what you are coming up against in the National League.
Southport's fate has already been sealed and they have been relegated into the National League North for next season, but Mellon knows that they are more than capable of producing a result so they are wary of the threat Andy Preece's team will pose.
He added: "Southport beating Forest Green Rovers on Monday shows you what this league is like.
"It can be so unpredictable, the challenges are so different and can be very difficult all the time."
The manager paid praise to the fans who have shown fantastic support all season long.
He says that Prenton Park is an exciting place to visit and he and his team very much look forward to home fixtures including the one this weekend.
"The atmosphere at Prenton Park is fantastic, as good as it has been since I've been involved at the Club, so I look forward to being there all the time because it's a good place to go and play football.
"The fans are delivering on what they should be doing and that's creating a brilliant atmosphere so it's a good place to go right now."
