Posted: Sat 14 Jan 2017

This weekend's futsal match dedicated to supporting anti domestic violence campaign

Tranmere Rovers Futsal play their first futsal match of 2017 and it will be dedicated towards the campaign to tackle domestic violence. Tranmere Rovers host Nottingham Trent at Prenton Park on Sunday 15th January, 3pm kick-off, looking to pick up three points in their promotion push.

Tranmere Rovers have partnered with Women’s Aid and the Wirral Council 2020 initiative to raise awareness about a subject which is a very common, but often hidden issue.

Mike Knight, Tranmere Rovers Futsal captain and ambassador of the campaign has stated, “I’m proud to be an ambassador for this cause. Futsal is coming on leaps and bounds, not just at Tranmere but around the UK and so it gives us a platform to raise awareness about an issue that is usually hidden behind closed doors”.
The Tranmere team will be warming up in Women’s Aid t-shirts and fans attending the match will be invited to sign a pledge supporting the campaign and donate to the cause.

Tickets are £3 for adults, £1 for under-18s and under-14s go free. For more information, please visit
