Tranmere add to squad ahead of Notts County game

Tranmere Rovers have completed the signing of Tom Hateley on a four month contract.

The 24-year old, who can play right back and centre midfield, started his career in the youth system at Reading. He has spent the past four seasons with Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League, making 173 appearances, before leaving the club in the summer.

Hateley has been training with Rovers since Tuesday and will be available for Saturday’s away game at Notts County.

Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore said: “I’m really pleased to be able to add Tom to our squad.

“He’s been with us for a couple of days and he’s looked sharp and raring to go. He’s strong, uses the ball well and his delivery into the box is good.

“He can play right back or the holding role in midfield so he gives us options in a couple of areas.

“There were other League 1 clubs interested in signing him but he chose to sign for Tranmere.”
