Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore hopes Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro's double strike against Leyton Orient are just the first of many goals this season.
The striker netted a second half brace in the 3-1 win and Moore says he should set his sights on the 20 goal mark in 2012-13.
The Manager told Tranmere Player: "Jean-Louis has underachieved. He’s one of those you wish you’d grabbed years ago.
"He’s 27 and he’s got bags of pace. He’s athletic and I think he’s the type who’ll score one or two overhead kick goals.
"I think he can play at the top level, but what he has to do is improve his goal tally. He gets a lot of one on ones and that’s what he has to do better. We’re trying to get him to finish them because he’s going to get in there a lot at this level with his pace.
"I don’t want to sell him but I think we could make a few bob on him. I think he’s got an exceptional talent.
"If he doesn’t get 20 goals this season I’ll be disappointed and I think he should be disappointed."
