Referee Graham Salisbury will take charge of the npower League 1 fixture against Carlisle United at Brunton Park on Tuesday night.
Mr Salisbury's most recent time as the number one official in a match involving Rovers was the 1-1 home draw against Notts County last season.
In 2012-13 he has refereed just one match, showing one yellow card in theCapital One Cup tie between Doncaster Rovers and York City.
The referee's assistants will be Michael Salisbury and Thomas Rogers with Ross Joyce the fourth official.
