The Tranmere squad will be wearing special shirts featuring the Prostate Cancer UK logo at Saturday’s home game against Oldham Athletic.
Tranmere’s kit supplier, Fila, has kindly donated the extra set of shirts to support Prostate Cancer UK which is the official charity of The Football League for 2012-13.
Rovers’ white strip will have the logo added on the front for the game, with the shirts then being auctioned to raise funds for the charity as part of Prostate Cancer UK’s weeks of action from March 2nd – 16th.
The Club is also holding a ground collection at the game to raise further funds and earlier this season produced a special charity calendar for the charity featuring topless photos of the players.
Chief Executive Mick Horton said: “The Football League’s chosen charity for 2012-13 is Prostate Cancer UK and we’ve been involved closely with them all season.
“We’re delighted to be able to help raise funds and awareness for what is a very important cause.
“Our fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK has been well supported by three of our partners – Fila, Action Images and the Village Hotel, Bromborough and we are very grateful for their help.
“After Saturday’s game the shirts will be washed and then will go on auction on eBay and supporters should keep an eye on the Club website, www.tranmererovers.co.uk for further details.”
