Tranmere Rovers have today completed the signing of winger Joe Thompson from Rochdale for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year old joins Rovers on a two year contract and will be available for Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Fleetwood Town.
Thompson is a product of the Rochdale youth system where he was named League 2 Apprentice of the Year in 2006-07. He has made 157 first team appearances for Dale, scoring 17 goals.
Manager Ronnie Moore said: “Joe is a great addition to the squad.
“He’s got plenty of pace, he’s good on the ball and he likes to take the opposition on.
“He can create and score goals and he’s strong in the air too.
“I’m looking forward to working with him.”
