Tranmere Rovers Chairman, Lorraine Rogers, is the first woman to be appointed to the Board of The Football League - again.

Lorraine was the first woman to join the Board in its 119 year history when she was voted on to it for a term in 2000/2001.

Lorraine was elected back on to the Board by League One clubs on Friday, winning 85 per cent of the vote.

The Board is chaired by Lord Mawhinney and has six elected representatives from League clubs.

Commenting on the appointment Lorraine said: "English football is polarising into the have's and the have not's and it's important for clubs in the lower leagues, like Tranmere, to be represented on the governing body."

"The Football League is one of the biggest Leagues in the world and collectively, more supporters attend Football League matches than Premiership games. In recent years, it has led the way in setting standards in football and it implemented ground breaking regulations in relation to governance of football clubs and the involvement of agents. It's a well respected governing body in the game and I'm delighted to join the Board again."
