Sacred Heart Win TRIC Tournament

Sacred Heart Primary School are set to represent Wirral at the Merseyside Youth Games after winning Tranmere Rovers In The Community's Annual 7-a-side tournament.

The girls from the Moreton school defeated Redcourt - who will also compete at the Merseyside Youth Games - 1-0 in the final at Pensby High School.

Around 40 schools took part in the competition which was run by TRIC in conjunction with Wirral Borough Council's Leisure Services department.

Community Officer Shirley Waring said: "There was a very high standard of play from all the schools on finals day and two good teams in a closely contested final."

The Merseyside Youth Games take place in Wavertree, Liverpool in July.
