Players Encourage Youngsters To Read
As part of world book day Chris Greenacre, Ryan Shotton, Bas Savage & Edrissa Sonko visited Woodlands Junior and infant schools (Ellesmere Port) to talk to the children about the books they read during their childhoods and their present reading habits.
Chris Greenacre actually read to all of the chidren (over four hundred boys and girls) so the children could see a role model still enjoying reading.
The players were asked numerous book related questions with the lads admitting to reading such books and magazines in their childhood as Tom Sawyer (Edrissa), Roald Dahl - the BFG (Chris), Superhero comics (Bas) and Goosebumps (Ryan).
Earlier in day the the childrens parents attended the school again to read with the children again acting as role models.
It was a fantastic afternoon and a special thanks must go to all of the lads for acting as role models for all of the children and endorsing the joys of reading in the process.
