St Winifrides RC Primary School are set to represent Tranmere Rovers at the League One North stage of the Football League Community Cup after winning the local stage earlier this week.

Four teams took part in finals night at Bebington Oval Sports Centre - Christ the King, Christ Church (Moreton), Sandbrook and St Winifrides RC primary.

The teams all played each other once in a league format with Sandbrook and St Winifrides eventually qualifying for the final with St Winifrides winning 1-0 to lift the trophy for the first time.

The League One North stage will take place at Crewe Alexandra FC on April 23rd. The winners of this stage will qualify for the League One final which takes place at Wembley Stadium in May prior to the Play Off Final.
