Tranmere are among the first clubs to team up with the Miss Dorothy Programme as part of their community activities .

The Football League Trust have awarded £10,000 to Community teams at six Football League clubs to run the Miss Dorothy programme - Watford, Charlton Athletic, Port Vale, Lincoln City, Tranmere Rovers and Peterborough United, who were presented with awards at Vicarage Road.

The Miss Dorothy programme teaches children aged seven to 10 how to manage everyday risks and lead safer lives.

It is part of the Government's Kids Taskforce scheme, which is supported by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), the Chief Fire Officers' Association (CFOA) and the Professional Footballers Association (PFA).

Over the coming months, staff from each club will visit schools to educate youngsters about their wellbeing and the benefit of exercise through sport.
