Tranmere Rovers in the Community
Tranmere Rovers Football in the Community scheme has been renamed Tranmere Rovers in the Community following its approval as a registered charity from the 1st February 2007.
Following its formation in 1988, Football in the Community's aims were to encourage closer links between the Club and the community and to encourage more people to become involved in football, mainly through soccer schools.
However over the years this has developed into all areas of the community, in particular ladies and disabled sections, and this new charity will enable the Club to reach out even further into the community.
The charity is based as the Club but has its own Board of Directors and a team of seven dedicated employees. Even before the formation of the charity, during the course of the year we help over 65 local charities and causes, players make 20 visits to local schools and we give approximately 285 free coaching sessions to children.
