Hall Of Fame - Pat Nevin

Posted on: Fri 10 Sep 2010

In five seasons at Prenton Park Nevin made a huge impact.

The Scottish international joined Rovers from Everton for a then club record £300,000 and he quickly showed why he had spent the previous nine years in the top flight of English football.

He formed part of a four man attack alongside John Morrissey, John Aldridge and Chris Malkin and was a virtual ever present in the side as Rovers reached the play offs three seasons in a row.

The skilful winger resurrected his international career while at Tranmere and went on to make 239 appearances for the Club, while setting a personal best of 16 goals during the 1992-93 campaign.

A highly entertaining player on the pitch, Pat played a key role off it, being elected chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association in 1993.

He left Rovers in 1997 and has gone on to enjoy a successful career in the media.
