Ladies Lift Cheshire Cup
Tranmere Ladies claimed the Concorde Cheshire FA Ladies Challenge Cup on Sunday with a thrilling victory over Crewe Alexandra at Cammell Laird FC.
Rovers took the lead through Rachel Rigby but Crewe levelled the score in the first half after Tranmere's Gaynor Collins was harshly sent off. Lyndsey Rodger was also shown a red card in the second half to reduce Tranmere to nine men, but the score remained 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The match remained 1-1 after extra time, with Tranmere taking the cup following a 5-4 penalty shoot out victory.
