Ronnie Moore admitted he felt his side had been slightly fortunate as they ran out 3-1 winners over Hartlepool.
Chris Greenacre's early strike was added to by a Michael Nelson own goal and a late effort from Shane Sherriff against ten man Hartlepool.
The Manager said: "It was nervy, but we know what it's like playing with ten men. We did it at Bristol Rovers and scored. It's not as easy as the crowd think. The crowd were on edge like me. Everybody seemed so nervous. I understand the crowd's anxiety because no one was more nervous than me out there.
"We let them back in the game then we gave them a penalty through total lack of discipline. We were lucky because if they'd scored it they'd have won the game the way it was going.
"We've had a little bit of luck today and maybe we've earned that during the season. We won 3-1 and when we look back tomorrow we'll think we've got out of jail a little bit.
"They controlled a game we should have dominated. There were one or two things defensively I wasn't happy about."
Meanwhile, the Manager was pleased to see Chris Shuker back in action, but had hoped to see more of the winger on the ball.
He added: "Shukes was back, he still needs games. You'll only get sharpness from him from giving him games. I don't think we gave him enough of the ball when they went down to ten men.
"I think there's every chance Ian Goodison could be fit for Thursday [against Port Vale]. He was close today. It's nice to win without him. At least he can't keep telling me we've not won without him.
"Jennison has a spur on his ankle which flares up every now and then and Mike Jones had the flu so couldn't be involved. Basically it was either me or Shuker on the wing and there wasn't much competition in that one!"
