Ronnie: "We Deserved To Win"
Ronnie Moore felt his side were good value for the win over Southend.
Rovers won 1-0 at Prenton Park before completing a lap of the pitch to applaud the fans for their support throughout the season.
The Manager said: "We deserved to win. It was a lovely bit of football for the goal. It was a great ball in and he's not going to miss in those areas. But we need more. We need goalscoring midfield players. Kaysy has shown he can compete for a place in there which is good for us.
"We came in at half time and you're thinking 'how is it 0-0?' because we've had umpteen chances. But I've got nothing but praise for them. We've done the double over Southend who are in the Play Offs and the double over Carlisle who are in the Play Offs. It shows we're not a million miles away from being a decent side. It just wants a bit of tinkering with and we'll be a threat for next season.
"Southend are big and strong but I don't think they're better than us. They've just been consistent.
"It's nice to finish at home on a high. There's nothing more embarrassing than being battered and having to do a lap of the pitch. But it would have been nice if our season had a few more weeks to go.
"I've said in my programme notes how well the fans have done this season, we just need a few more in.
"We wanted to finish seventh but we can't because of Brighton getting a win, so let's see if we can get the eighth spot."
