Ronnie: "Luke Reminds Me Of A Right Footed Clint Hill"
Ronnie Moore praised the younger members of his first team squad following their performances at Marine.
New signing Luke Waterfall, midfielder Paul Henry and defender Danny Holmes all impressed the Rovers Manager.
He told www.tranmererovers.co.uk: "One or two of the young kids are showing that they're up to the task if they need to be called on.
"Luke reminds me of a right footed Clint Hill. He's big and strong and he's got a hell of a chance. He just needs to quicken his feet up but we'll do that for him. He's 17 and six foot three. I'm well pleased that we managed to get him.
"Danny is coming on. He's got to learn that his use of the ball needs to be better but he is improving with every game.
"Paul Henry's another one. He has played at league level and he knows what to do. There were big plusses for all the young kids and I'm pleased with all of them."
Meanwhile, Moore said the players missing from the trip to Marine through injury - Chris Shuker, Antony Kay and Ian Goodison - should be fit for the game at Southport in midweek.
He added: "Everyone who is missing was carrying a strain. There were a couple of hamstring strains and a couple of thigh strains. But I think they'll all be ok for Tuesday.
"We'll try and give them 45 minutes each if we can, maybe a bit longer for one or two who need it."
