Ronnie: "We've Got To Pick Ourselves Up"
Ronnie Moore was disappointed with his side's defeat at Grimsby in the Carling Cup.
He told Tranmere World: "You talk about being frustrated on Saturday with the way we defended...it's the complete opposite really. The number of chances we created and not hit the target. We've hit the bar and hit the post, but we still get beaten with the sucker punch.
"We kept playing and didn't go into our shell. On another day we could have won by five. Somebody up there certainly isn't smiling on us at the moment.
"We've lost another game and conceded five in two games which isn't the ideal start. Now we've got to pick ourselves up. I'm bitterly disappointed we've gone out because of the opportunities we had.
"Anybody who wasn't here would think 'there we go, we've lost at Grimsby by two', but it wasn't one of those games.
"Sooner or later the chances will go on target. It's two games into the season and we've lost two games, so you can't be happy. We've only scored one and we've conceded five. But if we keep creating chances they will go in. We created enough chances tonight for at least two or three of them to have had two goals apiece.
"It didn't matter what system we had. We had chances with 4-4-2 and 4-3-3. You can't blame the formation for the result."
Meanwhile, the Manager revealed that Chris Shuker may be available for Saturday's match at home to Hartlepool.
