Les Parry was delighted to see his side claim a 1-0 home win over Brentford, a result that lifted Rovers off the bottom of League One.
He told Tranmere Player: "We needed the result. The performance was pleasing. It was a scrappy game but we were resilient. It looked like the lads wanted to win the game.
"[The free kick] was straight off the training ground. It was really well worked and we should have done it at Huddersfield but Gareth Edds decided to have a free kick instead.
"It was a funny first half. We gave away a lot of set pieces yet we had all the chances. I thought we started poorly in the second half and let them come at us but then we got a stranglehold on it.
"We defended well and took one of our chances. I think all the recent results have been thoroughly deserved."
