Les Parry says the lack of a midweek fixture doesn't mean his players will be taking it easy this week.
With Marlon Broomes set to miss the Bristol Rovers game due to suspension, the squad will have chance to work on the changes that will be needed.
The Caretaker Manager told Tranmere Player: "Marlon is missing this Saturday, so that was doubly annoying when he handled. He's done really well as he picked up his fourth booking up about four weeks ago, but the one he got done for is really annoying.
"It's no good us trying to hide it from Bristol Rovers - they can look at our squad and see that our only other option is to play Ash there and then bring one of Charlie Barnett, Paul McLaren or Ryan Fraughan back into the team.
"We're not taking our foot off the pedal. We'll have double sessions today and tomorrow and I'm keen that the players realise that when we haven't got a midweek game we will be doing double sessions. But it gives the players who have been playing with little niggles a break. With losing Marlon we will have a bit more time to work on our shape.
"This week is a home game and we approach them a bit differently in how we use Craig Curran and Ian Thomas-Moore. We'll be looking at that this week and pushing them on a bit. I'll be having a chat with the lads in between sessions today saying that they can take something from the performance at Southampton."
