Les Parry was pleased to see his side improve their performance after half time and run out 2-1 winners over Yeovil at Prenton Park.
A poor first half saw the sides go into the break level at 0-0 but quick fire strikes from Ian Thomas-Moore and Ash Taylor put Rovers in control.
The Manager told Tranmere Player: "The first half was disappointing. we just didn't get going and there was no sharpness. We had a word with the lads at half time and told them what we thought and they responded. Once we got the goal we found an extra yard and in the end it was disappointing to concede the goal.
"We played Shukes to get him on the ball and Shuker without the ball is a waste of time. He's got to get the ball and we just didn't do that in the first half. We said at half time to give him the ball and we started to do it and he created a bit for us and he got their defence on their heels as well. It was a disappointing first half but a much better second half.
"We haven't been creating chances in the last few games and today it was important we won so we needed to create chances. Chris Shuker is our most creative player but he's not our best defensive player so playing with him in a three man attack and expecting him to do the work the front three normally do is counter productive. So we decided to go with the 4-4-2 to give the two lads up front more of a chance to score a goal and it worked."
