Les Parry says Bas Savage could be in the frame for a place in the squad this weekend when Rovers play at home to Leyton Orient.
The striker will play another reserve game on Monday night against Accrington Stanley, his third following an Achilles injury picked up last April.
The Manager told Tranmere Player: "Bas will play tonight and if he comes through it he'll probably be knocking on my door. He thinks he's ready now but he still needs a few games. Had we needed another striker on the bench on Saturday I wouldn't have thought twice about taking him, even though he's not ready. This coming Saturday he'll be expecting to be involved...whether he is or not we'll have to wait and see.
"Everybody knows that if Bas was 100% fit he'd be in our side becausehe gives us something different to what we've got.
Meanwhile, Parry revealed that Lee Martin had taken over his week day physiotherapy role at the Club.
Martin, who previously played and worked as physio for Huddersfield Town, began work at Prenton Park today, with Parry keeping the role on a match day.
The Manager added: "Lee has got his own business so will do Monday to Friday for us. It will release me in the day time to get more involved.
"I've moved my kit from the physio room to the manager's changing room, so it will be quite sad really."
