Les Parry was delighted to see his side climb out of the bottom four as they clinched a 2-1 win over Leyton Orient at Prenton Park.
The Manager told Tranmere Player: "It was a massive victory - we've got to win our home games against the teams in the bottom half of the division. It was a rollercoaster ride in the second half. It's easy to criticise the lads but we're 2-0 up and in the botttom four and trying to tell them to not drop off is a waste of time. But they missed a couple of chances and we've got the victory.
"We scored two excellent goals and we could have had another two before half time. The one thing we wanted to do was keep a clean sheet and we weren't able to do that. Luckily there was only a matter of minutes to go [when Orient scored], had it been any longer than that I don't think I'd have been here now, I would have been having people pressing on my chest!
"They brought the two big lads on who are half decent players and they caused us problems. Instead of pushing on and leaving our defence to deal with them we dropped off to help them. The problem with that is when you clear it it's coming back to you all the time.
"Luke is a good shot stopper - I'd just like him to help our defence a bit more when we're facing our own goal. But the save from the free kick was amazing."
