Les Looking To Build On Momentum

Posted on: Thu 09 Sep 2010

Les Parry wants his side to build on their win over Peterborough and take the momentum into Saturday's game at Yeovil Town.

The Manager told Tranmere Player: "We've had two draws and a win from the last three games and if we can just keep that unbeaten run going it can only lift us up the division. At the beginning of the season lots of teams go a long time without an away win but not many go without a home win, so to get it was pleasing.

"I quite like getting the long distance trips out of the way early on. It's a very southern league. Yeovil are decent at home and we'll need to go there and perform. They're on the back of a defeat and I'm sure their manager won't accept that and will probably make a couple of changes and they'll want to prove themselves.

"We're similar clubs. Yeovil is in a nice part of the world with a good set up and they've done really well to get where they are."

Meanwhile, Les said the coaching staff would assess a number of players tomorrow to see if they were fit to travel, while Gunnar Nielsen picked up an arm injury on international duty with the Faroe Islands.

The Manager added: "We're going to look at Ian Goodison, Joss Labadie, Adam McGurk and Sam Morrow tomorrow to see if they're ok.

"We're going to speak to Man City today to find out the extent of Gunnar's injury."
