Moore Praise For Fans

Posted on: Wed 05 Sep 2007

Ronnie Moore praised the supporters who came to Prenton Park last night and cheered on Rovers despite the result.

The crowd was up more than 500 on the home game against Darlington in the Second Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie last season.

The Manager told Tranmere World: "The atmosphere was brilliant. The fans want to win it and they wanted a day out at Wembley. So I've got nothing but thanks for the way they came in and got behind us. It's just a pity one or two out there didn't perform the way we wanted.

"I've been to Wembley with Kingy and he led sides out there and it's a great feeling. They have thrown away the easiest opportunity to get there. We didn't have the spark or brightness in the final third that you need."
