Tranmere Rovers are joining forces with the Royal British Legion to help raise funds for the 2007 Poppy Appeal.

The regional appeal will be officially launched at Prenton Park on Wednesday, 24 October, when ex-servicemen will meet players and staff of the Club.

As part of the partnership, admission for Seniors (60+) to Tranmere's game against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday, 6 November, will be reduced to just £5, of which £1 for every Senior will be donated to the appeal by the Club.

There will also be a ground collection at the game, while the Sea Cadet Corp Band Ellesmere Port will provide pre-match entertainment.

Poppies will be on sale around the ground at the Oldham game.

Tranmere Chief Executive Mick Horton said: "The Royal British Legion is the leading charity safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of those who have served their country and I would urge Tranmere fans to be generous in their support of the Poppy Appeal.

"We look forward to entertaining the crowd at the Oldham match with the Sea Cadet Corp Band Ellesmere Port and hope to forge a successful relationship with the Club."
