Tranmere travel to Grimsby this afternoon for their First Round FA Youth Cup sponsored by E.ON tie.

It is the eighth away draw in a row for Rovers' Youth, who have yet to play a tie at Prenton Park since Shaun Garnett became coach at the start of the 2004-05 season.

Rovers go into the match in 15th place in the Puma Youth Alliance North West Conference, while Grimsby are third in the North East Conference.

Tranmere have met Grimsby Town Youth on just one occasion since entering the FA Youth Cup in 1958-59 - in a Second Round tie during the 1996-97 season. Played (December 11th) at Prenton Park, Rovers won 2-0 as both Perry Taylor and Clint Hill scored in front of 129 spectators.

This evening's tie against Grimsby Town will be Rovers 108th in the competition.
