From 2009-10, Football League clubs will benefit from a massive new television deal worth £264 over three seasons.

The Football League has signed new agreements with Sky Sports and BBC Sport worth £88m a season - 135% up on the current broadcasting deals.

Under the new agreement Sky Sports will broadcast:
* 65 matches from the Coca-Cola Football League, exclusively live.
* The Coca-Cola Football League Play-Offs - including all three Finals - exclusively live.
* Exclusive live matches from Rounds 1 to 5 of the Carling Cup - two matches per round - and two legs of the Carling Cup semi-finals exclusively live, plus live coverage of the Carling Cup Final.
* Live matches from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
* Highlights and clips of the Coca-Cola Football League, Carling Cup & Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

BBC Sport will broadcast:
* 10 matches from the Coca-Cola Championship, exclusively live.
* Two legs of the Carling Cup semi-finals exclusively live, plus live coverage of the Carling Cup Final.
* Highlights and clips of the Coca-Cola Football League and the Carling Cup.

Revenue from the agreements will be split according to the Football League's television income distribution mechanism, meaning 80% to the Championship, 12% to the League One and 8% to League Two. So clubs in every division will receive more than they currently do once the new deal kicks in. For clubs in League One, the incentive to gain promotion to the Championship becomes even greater.

Tranmere Chairman Lorraine Rogers said: "The team at the Football League have been working very hard on this deal and deserve congratulations.

"It is a fantastic and ground breaking broadcasting deal, not just in terms of money but also the quality of the broadcasters."

In announcing the new agreement Football League Chairman Lord Mawhinney said: "We are delighted to be continuing our strong partnership with Sky Sports and are excited by the prospect of working closely with the BBC. I am grateful to them both for their recognition of the value that The Football League brings to the football marketplace.

"Over the last few years The League's standing has been enhanced, both commercially and competitively, as we have delivered real football for real fans. This deal recognises that fact.

"£88m a year coupled with unparalleled coverage on Sky and the BBC will provide a fantastic boost to Football League clubs and their supporters."
