Reserves: Man City 2 Tranmere 3
Tranmere Reserves claimed a 3-2 win over Manchester City on Tuesday afternoon in the Pontin's Holidays League Division One West.
Rovers went behind as early as seven minutes, but Tom Beahon levelled on 24 when side footing past the keeper when one on one.
Beahon added a second to put Shaun Garnett's side 2-1 up on 41 minutes. Mike Jones beat the City left back, his deep cross was headed back across goal by Craig Curran and Beahon netted from close range.
Though City equalised on 81 minutes, Tranmere grabbed the winner two minutes later with Adnan Ahmed curling in a free kick from 20 yards after Jones had been fouled.
Coach Shaun Garnett commented: "It was a good game and we played some good stuff, particularly in the first half. When City scored their second I thought they might go on and nick it as we were a bit under the cosh, but Adnan scored a brilliant free kick to get us the win."
