Tranmere's First Round Carling Cup tie against Grimsby Town has been arranged for Tuesday, 12 August kick off 7.45pm at Blundell Park.

The two clubs have met once before in the League Cup. In 1993 Rovers defeated the Mariners 4-1 at Prenton Park, with John Aldridge (2), Kenny Irons and Steve Vickers on target in a Third Round tie.
