Southport 1 Tranmere 4
Goals from Craig Curran, Andy Taylor and Ian Moore earned Rovers a 4-1 win over Southport in a pre-season friendly at Haig Avenue on Tuesday evening.
Rovers took the lead after six minutes when Curran headed in from Danny Holmes' right wing cross. It looked like the advantage was doubled on 25 minutes when Antony Kay powered in a header from Charlie Barnett's corner, but the effort was ruled out for a push inside the area.
Five minutes into the second half Taylor headed in from another Barnett corner, but Steve Daley pulled a goal back for the hosts 12 minutes later.
Curran finished well on 76 minutes to make the score 3-1 and Moore rounded off the scoring on 80 minutes with a shot into the top right corner.
