Tranmere v Bolton - Tuesday 7.45pm

Posted on: Thu 31 Jul 2008

Premier League side Bolton Wanderers come to Prenton Park on Tuesday night for a pre-season friendly against Tranmere.

Wanderers, who also visited Prenton Park last summer, lost their latest pre-season friendly 1-0 against Macclesfield on Saturday.

Rovers defeated Morecambe 2-1 at the weekend, with young strikers Craig Curran and Terry Gornell on target.

The match against Bolton is likely to be supporters' first opportunity to watch new loan signing Godwin Antwi in action in a Tranmere shirt at Prenton Park, while Edrissa Sonko, Gareth Edds, George O'Callaghan and Bas Savage could all be involved.

It may also be a chance for Rovers defender Ian Goodison to go head to head with his Jamaican international team mate and friend, Ricardo Gardner.

In last summer's meeting between the sides, a goal from Bolton's Ricardo Vaz Te was all that separated the sides.

The last competitive encounter was in January 2004 when an extra time goal from Iain Hume gave Rovers a 2-1 win in the FA Cup Third Round.
