Saturday, 6 September, kick off 3pm at Prenton Park

Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore hopes to have Gareth Edds available for the game against Oldham after the versatile midfielder missed the midweek match against Accrington Stanley with a groin injury.

Definitely out of action are Ian Goodison (international duty) and Godwin Antwi (ankle), but Antony Kay is fit to play and Ben Chorley is available after also missing the Accrington game to attend the birth of his child.

Goodison's absence could give either Luke Waterfall or Ryan Shotton a chance at the back, with Antony Kay also an option.

Oldham boss John Sheridan was boosted by the news that defender Neil Eardley will be allowed to play by the Welsh FA but striker Lee Hughes is a doubt after coming off injured against Morecambe in midweek.

Saturday's game is the 75th time the two sides have met in competitive action, with Oldham's two wins last season taking them to a 30 wins to 27 advantage. In 2007-08 John Sheridan's side won 1-0 at Prenton Park and 3-1 at Boundary Park, with Mike Jones scoring Rovers' solitary goal.

Rovers can be backed to win at 7/5, with a 2-1 victory 17/2. Fancy a scorecast? Andy Taylor scoring the first goal in a 3-1 win is a massive 550/1! Remember, every bet you place at bet365 directly helps the Club.
