Seven Subs For Rovers
Posted on: Tue 16 Jun 2009
All Football League matches in 2009/10 will see clubs allowed to name seven substitutes instead of five following a change to the rules at the League's Annual General Meeting yesterday.
The rule change was proposed by Derby County and approved by club officials at the meeting. Clubs will still only be allowed to use three of the substitutes.
Football League clubs were limited to five substitutes in league matches in 2008/09, but were able to name seven in both Carling Cup and FA Cup matches.
