Rovers Looking To Retain Masters Title
Tranmere will aim to repeat last year's Mersey Masters victory when they return to action at the Liverpool Arena on Saturday.
The Rovers squad includes Youth Team Coach Shaun Garnett and former Goalkeeper Coach John Achterberg, along with past players Stuart Barlow, John McGreal, Eddie Bishop, Ian Nolan, Georges Santos, Ged Brannan and Kenny Irons.
Also in the competition are Liverpool, Wigan and Everton. Last season Rovers won the Mersey Masters stage to earn a place in the national finals where they eventually lost in the semi finals.
Shaun Garnett told www.tranmererovers.co.uk: "I'm looking forward to it. It's my first masters competition so I'm under a bit of pressure as I'm the only change from last year's winning squad.
"It's a nice chance to meet up with some of the lads I don't get to see often, and hopefully we'll have a bit of fun and repeat last season's win."
The Mersey Masters will be on Sky Sports 2 / Sky Sports HD from 8pm on Saturday.
