Midfielder
Charlie Barnett has today signed a new one year contract at
Tranmere Rovers.
The 20-year old joined Rovers last summer after progressing through the Liverpool Football Club Academy.
In 2008/09 he made 33 appearances and scored three goals, including match-winning strikes against Oldham and Hereford.
His signing follows on from the arrivals of Alan Mahon, Paul McLaren, John Welsh and Mark Allott along with a new contract signed by striker Ian Moore.
Manager John Barnes said: "Charlie is a talented young midfielder and I'm delighted he will be in my squad this season.
"He has good technique, is willing to learn and I've been pleased with his work in pre-season."
Charlie added: "I really enjoyed my first year at Tranmere so I'm pleased to have signed a new contract.
"With the new Manager and the signings he has already made hopefully we can do even better than last season."
Charlie will be available for Tranmere's home pre-season friendlies against Preston North End on Saturday, 18 July, Liverpool XI on Friday, 24 July and Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, 1 August.
