Tranmere Rovers Director Lorraine Rogers has been re-elected on to the Board of Directors of The Football League.

Lorraine was the first woman to join the Board in its 122 year history when she was voted on to it for a term in 2000/01.

She was elected back on to the Board by League 1 clubs in 2007 and re-elected for a third three year term today, winning 68% of the vote against candidates from Walsall and Southampton.

The Board of Directors is chaired by Greg Clarke and includes six elected representatives from League clubs plus independent non-executive director Ian Ritchie, the Chief Executive of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.

Lorraine commented: "It is vital that the views of clubs in the lower leagues are represented on the Football League Board of Directors and I am delighted to have been re-elected by League 1 clubs.

"It's an important time for the Football League, especially with the financial challenges in the game and the widening gap between the Championship clubs and those in Leagues 1 and 2.

"I'm particularly concerned about the impact the solidarity and parachute payments deal with the Premier League will have on The Football League."
