Little Leaves Rovers By Mutual Consent

Tranmere Rovers and Brian Little have today agreed that Brian Little will leave the Club by mutual consent.
Tranmere secured safety in League One with a 2-1 victory over MK Dons last Saturday and during the week Chairman Lorraine Rogers and Brian Little have had a number of detailed discussions about the Club's plans and ambitions for next season. As a result of those discussions, the Club and Brian Little reached a mutual decision.
Brian Little joined the Club in October 2003 and took the Club to the FA Cup quarter finals in his first season. The Club reached the play off semi finals last season but have struggled in the bottom half of the table this season and gates have dropped by over 20 per cent.
Chairman Lorraine Rogers said: "Our discussions with Brian over the last few days have been totally open and amicable. We both focused on what's right for the Club and for Brian.
Throughout this difficult season Brian, as always, has been calm and unflappable. We'd like to thank Brian for the success he brought to the Club, especially in his first two seasons here. Now we need to focus on next season and we will start the process of finding a new manager immediately."
Brian Little said: "I've thought about this long and hard over recent days and am sure this is right for the Club and for me personally. I've really enjoyed the last 3 seasons here, despite the problems we have had this season. The play offs last year and the quarter final FA Cup games against Millwall stand out. Finally, I would like to wish everyone at the Club every success for the future."
Jason McAteer, assisted by John McMahon, will take charge of the final game of the season against Doncaster Rovers at Prenton Park tomorrow.
