Paul Linwood Tribunal Decision

Posted on: Thu 14 Sep 2006

Paul Linwood

An independent panel today adjudicated that Chester City Football Club must pay Tranmere Rovers a transfer fee of £15,000 for Paul Linwood.

The Club will also receive 10% of any sell on above this amount.

Chester City had offered a fee of £5,000 but this was rejected by Tranmere Rovers and the matter was referred to tribunal. The decision of the tribunal is final and binding.

Tranmere Chairman Lorraine Rogers said: "We're very happy with the outcome of the tribunal. Paul joined us as a schoolboy and the fee of £15,000 reflects to some extent the development costs incurred by the Club over the years he was with us.

"It's a fair outcome but this was more a matter of principle for Tranmere Rovers."

Paul made more than 50 appearances for Tranmere after making his debut against Blackpool in 2003.
