Chris McCready joined Tranmere on loan until the end of the 2009-10 season during the January transfer window.
McCready returned to Prenton Park after signing for Rovers from Crewe ahead of the 2007-08 season. The centre back made 47 appearances and helped the side keep 15 clean sheets before he rejoined Crewe at the end of the campaign.
He signed for Northampton Town last summer and was a regular in their side in the first four months of the season.
