Tranmere initially signed defender Zoumana Bakayogo on a short term contract in September 2009.
The 23-year old, who was born in Paris, France, began his career at Paris St Germain, before moving to Millwall in 2006. He spent time on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and returned to France in 2008-09 season where he played for UJA Alfortville.
He has represented the Ivory Coast at Under-23 level, playing in Olympic Qualifiers.
His early performances resulted in a new contract until the end of the season and that was subsequently extended by a season in the summer of 2010 and again the following summer.
